BuildSite founders, Ned Trainor and Mark Anderson started the company to provide contractors and suppliers with a practical, single-source of product and technical information, coupled with software to improve day-to-day business processes. Ned came to BuildSite from the construction products distribution business. Mark is an experienced software architect and developer.
Ned's inspiration for BuildSite came from direct jobsite experience, watching project engineers deal with thick books of specifications while simultaneously scheduling concrete deliveries, conferring with superintendents, and ordering lunch.
This was one of many experiences that made it clear the industry needed a simple way to tie specifications to products, find products to solve jobsite problems, and simplify the submittal process. Mark provided the technical vision by translating an idea and a mock-up into an easy to use application that has grown in size and functionality since its launch at World of Concrete in 2001.
